Company Profile
C&W has a qualified design and production team consisting of engineering and drafting staff, supervisors, welders, machinists, CNC operator and a Brake/Shears operator. Over the years C&W has acquired a reputation for reliable service and quality workmanship. The C&W plant is a 20,000 sq. ft. fabricating facility with modern equipment including a Laser cutting machine,Computer plasma cutting machine, 7.5 ton overhead crane, computerized press brake, iron worker, shears, pipe bending and cutting equipment, lathes and welding machines. In 1999 a High Pressure Wash system was designed for crab. This unit which cleans whole raw crab greatly reduces the manpower needed for intensive manual cleaning of the product. Various capacities are available and each unit can be fabricated to suit existing processing lines. In 1994 C&W designed its first Continuous Brine Freezer. This system allows for single station loading and unloading of the brine freezer, reducing labor costs and providing a continuous flow through the system. There are also fewer baskets around the plant floor due to the fact that the baskets are in the system. A Continuous Cooker - Cooler system, can accompany the Continuous Brine Freezer. This creates a consistent flow through the plant and provides improved production time. In 1991 C&W designed and built its first Tunnel Freezer complete with glazing unit capable of freezing up to 1600 lbs. of fish per hour with 3-4 operators. This unit continues to prove reliable and efficient freezing. This unit can be housed inside an 8 ft. x 40 ft. insulated container and can be shipped anywhere in the world. It can be placed inside or adjacent to an existing plant with relatively little set up time. Also in 1991 C&W added to its products a Whelk Processing Line, which includes the Crusher, Shell Separator, Turbo Washer, Final Shell Separator and Inspection Conveyor. There are several of these processing lines in production in Newfoundland and Quebec. Since the early days of exploratory drilling at the offshore oil fields near Newfoundland, C&W has been involved in support activities in the miscellaneous metal fabrication sector. Their trained staff of welding and machine fitters are experienced in every phase of metal fabrication and steel work, on site or in the plant. From a catwalk to a cargo basket, from platform construction to platform repair, C&W has the experts, materials and solutions to accomplish the set tasks. In 1990 a Fish Unloader was designed primarily to unload fin fish from the holds of fishing vessels in as little time as possible without damage to the fish. At present there are 15 of these machines in operation throughout the island of Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and the U.S. Improvements and modifications have been made to the original design resulting in a more compact and portable unloader which can be easily moved from one location to another. In 1989 C&W acquired the manufacturing and marketing rights to a line of proven Swedish designed Fish Grading Machines for species such as Shrimp, Cod, Pollock, Mackerel, Caplin, Whelk, Squid, Sardines, Herring, Whitefish, Anchovies, Redfish, Whiting, Talipia, and many more. These machines can be hydraulically or electrically driven and can be adapted to shipboard or in plant use. | ||||||||||||||||||||
